Learn as you earn with hands-on training

An apprenticeship can be a great choice if you’re looking for a way to learn and work at the same time. They offer a work-based alternative to traditional further and higher education, and the chance to take your career in new directions. You’re earning and learning, not building up any student debt, and building on your natural talents.

With us, you can gain technical and specialist skills, knowledge in areas like digital technology, sales, analytics or customer experience, and you get to put it all into practice in the real world. All the while, we’ll ensure you’re supported and mentored so that you can build your confidence in your new career.

Our apprenticeship schemes

Each of our different schemes is based on, and within, a key part of our business, so you can immerse yourself in what we do and how we do it. You’ll have time allocated to learn the technical or specialist elements of the apprenticeship and then apply this to your day job. Plus, you’ll be supported in your personal and professional development in areas such as presentation skills, interpersonal skills, self-awareness and communication where appropriate.

You’ll have access to a buddy and apprentice coach, as well as support from your line manager and the apprentice peer community. These are permanent roles where you’ll be paid a competitive apprenticeship salary. Find out more about our apprenticeship schemes below:

All our positions are permanent and once your apprenticeship scheme finishes, you’ll be able to use the knowledge and skills you’ve gained within the business itself.

Responsible business

At Capita, we’re committed to being a purpose-led, responsible business creating better outcomes for our people, clients, suppliers, investors, and society. We're always listening and we welcome ideas from all our colleagues as we strive to do more.

We believe businesses should be part of the solution to the problems faced by societies all over the world, by putting benefits to society and people at the heart of their success.

The application process

Step 1 - apply

The first step is to apply online and answer some eligibility questions. You’ll fill in an online form and have the option to add a CV, although it’s not necessary.

Step 2 – take part in the game-based assessment

If you meet our eligibility requirements, you’ll go through a game-based assessment created by our partner Arctic Shores. It’s designed to give everyone a fair, unbiased chance to do well when applying and helps us find out more about you as well as how you learn. You’ll get to see your results too, so you can see where your strengths lie.

Step 3 – take part in the virtual assessment event

If you reach the final stage of our process, we’ll invite you to a virtual assessment event, which will last a couple of hours. This is a great opportunity for you to find out more about Capita and the areas you’ll be working in. It’ll also give you the chance to meet some of your potential future peers. If you’re selected to take part in one of these sessions, we’ll provide you with all the information you need prior to the day!

Step 4 – apprenticeship offer and onboarding

If you’re successful at your virtual assessment event, you’ll be made a conditional offer and your onboarding process will start. We’ll also give you your start date and get you enrolled on your qualification.

Advice and tips

Here are a few things to think about before you apply:

Take some time to learn about the apprenticeship itself and where it could take you. Consider why you’re suited to the apprenticeship you want to apply for.

Avoid applying for multiple apprenticeships. Think about which apprenticeship programme is right for you and go for that one.

Give yourself ample time to fill in the application and make sure you have someone lined up to read through it carefully before you hit send.

We sometimes need to close our application window earlier if we have a large number of submissions, so don’t leave it till the last minute.
