Thornside, the pet insurance division of Capita Insurance Distribution, announces it is working with Home Retail Group to provide and administer its new pet insurance programme in Ireland.
Thornside, which already provides pet insurance under Home Retail Group’s Argos and Homebase brands in the UK, is providing dedicated sales, fulfillment services and claims handling to the Argos brand in Ireland. This will enable Argos’ customers who are dog and cat owners to benefit from a bespoke product and competitive cover for their pets.
Andrew Simpson, pet insurance product manager at Home Retail Group, commented: “We have received a very positive response to our pet insurance product in the UK and are keen to provide our customers in Ireland with a similar choice. We are excited about entering the Irish market which still has some room for development and hope our offering will provide pet owners with further choice.”

The policy offers two different levels of cover to Irish customers: silver and gold. This will provide the option for Irish pet owners to choose the level of cover that is right for them via: www.argospetinsurance.ie or by calling 1 800 812 651 or 0165 69 671.
Customers opting for multi-pet cover will also receive a discount of 10 per cent.
