The Capita Group Plc (Capita) has been reawarded the contract to administer and manage Constructionline, the UK register of local and national pre-qualified construction and construction related suppliers, by the Department of Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR). The new contract is for a term of four years with an option to extend for a further two years. Capita have been administering Constructionline since 1998.
Under the new contract, Capita will execute several plans to support growth of the service including a complete revamp of the online system and the introduction of many initiatives to help SME’s register. Over the last 12 months, usage of Constructionline has grown by over 50 per cent and that increase is expected to continue.
Denis Walker, director BERR Construction Sector Unit, commented: "The standard was high in the bid process for the Constructionline contract. Capita's bid was the strongest, and we look forward to considerable growth in the service over the next few years."
Warwick Gooch, business director of Capita Integrated Services commented: "Capita are delighted to have this opportunity to continue managing and administering Constructionline. We have a number of initiatives to support growth of the service. We also intend to increase the breadth of our relationships with other procurement and government organisations to reduce the duplication within the pre-qualification process. This will bring even better benefits to the members."
The contract was awarded to Capita following a competitive tendering process.
