Government Defence

The Defence sector is an important and exciting growth area for Capita

Experience in Defence gives us a substantial and well proven track record spanning more than 30 years in the design and construction of Defence buildings in all fields of the MoD’s range of accommodation. These include residential, laboratory, healthcare, office, workshop and hanger buildings featuring both new-build and refurbishment, including hardened structures with radiological and bacteriological design. We are totally familiar with, and experienced in all MoD forms of procurement from GC/Works 1 and DefCon 2000 through to PPP/PFI and Regional and Stand-alone Prime Contracting.

Our breadth of experience across a wide range of building types from domestic to highly complex matches the MoD’s diverse property portfolio. We understand both the aspirations of the corporate client in terms of delivering better value together with the needs of the user client with regard to operational functionality and security. This is coupled with a thorough working knowledge of JSP Scales together with Defence Estates’ Technical Bulletins, Policy and Guidance documents.

Capita works with the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force as well as being the Architectural Consultants for the Tri Service “Metrix” Defence Training Review Consortia. Military ethos and lifestyle are engrained in the concepts we propose but in a manner that is both traditional and yet innovative, embracing change, rationalisation, modern technology and drive for value for money. Security requires a combination of knowledge and experience held
by over 300 staff who have been security cleared over the years from subcontractor level to the highest European levels.
