We manage, measure and make every effort to minimise our environmental impacts
As we are a service business our direct environmental impacts are not broad; but the scale of our business means our impacts need to be managed well.
Almost all of our employees are office based meaning that our environmental impacts are those associated with normal modern office facilities.
We focus on our main Group-wide environmental impacts:
- minimising energy use at our sites
- reducing business travel
- managing our resource use and waste management.
Our environmental management system, based on the ISO14001 standard, allows us to monitor and manage our impacts and continually improve performance in these areas. And our environmental policy sets out our commitment to complying with the relevant environmental legislation, and board level responsibilities.
Our Group Finance Director is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the policy across the Group, supported by our Group Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Team. The Group SH&E Team works with a network of site managers, SH&E advisers and FM managers at site, business and divisional level across the Group.
We work with a number of organisations and stakeholders including the Carbon Trust and the Environment Agency to help manage our environmental impacts and share knowledge and innovations. We also work with our clients and suppliers to help reduce their environmental impacts.
