Jo Everist, a Capita employee, collected the 'Volunteer of the Year award' at the Business in the Community (BITC)'s Annual Yorkshire and Humber Regional Awards for Excellence.
The award recognises those who are strongly committed to ‘putting something back’ through their company’s volunteering schemes. Jo, who works on the Coal Health Contract (CHC) in Sheffield, was one of five team leaders who took part in Capita CHC's first South Yorkshire Cares Challenge at Woodhouse West Primary School.
The team transformed an overgrown and unused shrub land into a vibrant wildlife flower garden with bird boxes, feeders, a compost and recycling area and a small allotment.
