We don’t see communication as a one-way street
Or even two-way. For us it’s a 30,000 street. We want to engage all our people in open dialogue and debate. Talking and listening. Sharing skills, knowledge, experience and ideas across the organisation.
Open communication underpins our teamwork, respect for one another and responsibility for decisions and actions. It helps us innovate and keep moving forward.
So we have plenty of formal channels for trading ideas and information both inside and between business units. These include a Group newsletter, frequent email notices and newsletters, internal notice board statements, and regular communication from the directors on business performance. Everyone’s encouraged to contribute news, views and feedback.
We also foster strong informal networks. Our open door policy encourages people to talk freely with their management about anything that affects them or our business. And our community and charity programme gives people a refreshingly different way to engage with one another and the company, outside the confines of the workplace.
