Our approach
High standards of performance – in all areas of our business - are essential to maintaining a long-term position in the markets where we operate. Corporate responsibility is no exception.
We recognise our responsibility to identify and manage the social and environmental impacts of our operations and the services we deliver. In 2009 we continued to focus our activity across our six priority areas, reflecting our stakeholders’ interests.
Our approach to CR is straightforward:
- We identify the key social and environmental impacts of our work
- We set objectives to reduce these impacts and improve our performance
- We monitor and measure our progress towards these targets
- We report on our performance, so that stakeholders, both inside and outside the Company can review our progress and make informed decisions about the company.
Our approach to CR is underpinned by our Statement of Business Principles, which sets out the standards of behaviour that we expect.
